How??? Riddle

a husband and wife were driving along the road when they ran out of petrol.The husband decided to walk back to the gas station they had passed a while back .He rolled up the windows and locked all the doors leaving his wife in the car. a half an hour later the husband returned to his car only to discover hes wife had been shot in the head with a gun.all the doors were still locked and none of the windows had been tampered with or marked he wasnt the killer it wasnt a suicidethere was no gun found in the car and there was no one else in the car!!!how?
